FESTIVALS ARE NICE. FESTIVALS ARE GOOD. FESTIVALS ARE INSPIRING. BUT FESTIVALS ONLY HAPPEN OCCASIONALLY. THE REAL IMPACT OF A FESTIVAL IS WHAT HAPPENS IN THE WEEKS AND MONTHS THAT FOLLOW. DOES ANYTHING CHANGE? DO LOCAL PROGRAMS IMPROVE? Do INDIVIDUALS FEEL ANY DIFFERENCE INTHEIR LIVES? INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT, IN VIEW'S ACE. REPORTER, SHERRY LEE, CHECKED IN WITH A FEW PEOPLE AROUNDTHE COUNTRY:

BOSTON: "You can practically swim around in the wonderful feeling that's here. I looked out at the faces of the people attending our first program after the festival and I could see everyone just drinking it in. We had a great turnout from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. What happened with Maharaji at the festival went very deep. People are not just more inspired this time. There's been a tangible increase in the number of people who want to be involved in specific ways." Terry Yingling

SAN ANTONIO/AUSTIN: "It feels great here! We're trying to get together all the people we can in Texas to see if we can invite Maharaji to come. We're planning a statewide event for September, and an instructor will be doing a week long tour of the state." Bill Roth

THE MIDWEST: "I'm finding people to be more enthusiastic about practicing Knowledge, and feeling really good about themselves and Maharaji and Knowledge. People don't want a gap between the festival experience and their personal everyday experience. They don't want to be parted from it." John Horton

DENVER: "Since the festival, I've noticed that people here are a lot more inspired to enjoy the experience of Knowledge. We've had several programs that have been very beautiful, with a very open feeling. And we've seen a lot of new faces, too…" David Mankoff

GAINESVILLE: "There's a real surge of interest since the festival, even in people who didn't go. We've been getting a lot of calls from people interested in Knowledge. Another thing I've noticed is that different communities seem to be coming together more and sharing the inspiration." Janet Rucker

Los ANGELES: "People have been saying that, after eight or nine years, the festival clinched something for them in their practice of Knowledge. I have the sense of something new in the air. People want to be ready for that, ready for whatever Maharaji has in store for us." Marta Kepes

PHOENIX: "When I left Miami, I felt absolutely clear about my need to dedicate more of my time to the practice of Knowledge, to go deeper with it, and to support Maharaji's work. Everyone I've talked with here seems to have a similar sense of renewal and joy. Our next program in Phoenix will be for inspiration, so people can speak about that joy." Beth McDougal

CHICAGO: "We've absolutely noticed a difference since the festival. For many years, attendance at programs was about 12-15. After the festival, even though we didn't have time to do a mailing, 56 people came. And people really got behind the idea of a special program to which they could bring friends who don't have Knowledge. We got a commitment from an instructor, then decided to hold a fundraising picnic to support that program. For some reason, it's all been fun!" David Jones

NEW YORK: "Enthusiasm has been very high here. The week we got home from Miami, I got a phone call from a friend, 'Rosanne, Rosanne, I think we need to have a program right away!' Even though the folks who usually organize the programs were still in Miami, we did it. We got on the phone and invited everyone we could. It was an incredible program and about 130 people showed up." Rosanne Friedlander

MIAMI: "Since the festival, I find myself listening from a deeper place. More than ever before, I am hearing about Maharaji at programs. Something's different. Programs are full, standing room only - and I walk away from them feeling full." Elisa Cabal

SAN FRANCISCO: "The festival definitely had an effect. The inspirational level here is higher, attendance is higher, and there's a renewed appreciation for Maharaji. It's really been beautiful here, with something happening almost every night. There's a real excitement in putting programs together and renewing our desire to invite Maharaji here." Sharon Stokke
