Prem Rawat's Teaching about Salvation - In His Own Words
Prem Rawat or Maharaji, ("Ultimate Ruler") the Perfect Master and Satguru claims he is the source of salvation in this world and so naturally he is the Savior. Actually Maharaji says he takes us beyond salvation, beyond liberation to a place that cannot be described, only experienced.
Hans Rawat (father of Prem Rawat)
O my Satguru, all praise to You, all glory to You! O Lord of the Universe, source of all creation, supreme personality bestower of salvation, friend of the humble and the poor, only by Your blessing can this powerful illusion be dispelled, as the sun's rays dispel darkness.

Hence perpetual peace, eternal bliss and salvation within the lifetime are ensured. There is absolutely no other way to achieve them. This is universally substantiated and experienced by every saint, no matter where and when he lived. It is written in the scriptures, "One who desires to have happiness without Bhakti (devotion) is a great fool. To reach real happiness by other means is like trying to cross the ocean without a boat. Bhakti is a most precious diamond. One who has this diamond in his heart knows not even the slightest misery."
Who Is Guru Maharaj Ji?, 1973

He was a fearless, realised saint who followed the path of all great seers, shunning traditions, superstitions and rituals. He emphasised the worship of the living Guru.
But the relation of the Guru and the disciple transcends human relations, and are based on eternal bond of the jiva and God. Every individual soul is destined to achieve salvation through the grace of a living Guru.
Satgurudev Shri Hans Ji Maharaj
"Peace Bomb" speech, India Gate, Delhi, India, November 8 1970
Give me your love and I will give you peace. Surrender the reins of your life to me and I will give you salvation. I am the source of peace in this world. Many times I have come but this time I have come with more power than ever before. But what can I do unless men come to me with love in their hearts and a sincere desire to know Truth. I declare that I will establish peace in this world." … Therefore, dear premies, the time has come. See how peace will be established in the world. There will be peace on earth. That peace which disappeared shall prevail again. It will come, and once again the world will understand. So listen to me and act accordingly. Bow down before Guru Maharaj Ji!

"Why must a person have a Guru? Because without a Guru no one can achieve salvation." Seeing I am a Sikh, he quotes the Sikh scriptures to me: "Were a hundred moons to rise and a thousand suns as well, without the Guru the world would still be in utter darkness." He likes to illustrate his points with parables. He breaks into English: "Divine knowledge is like money in a bank, it is my money. I have the checkbook. But only after I write on that check and sign it can you draw the money. See?" His English is not very good. He speaks it with an American accent with the query "see?" at the end of the sentence.

We read all these examples about these things receiving this perfect Knowledge and getting blissed out, but that's not it, because it does no good to us except it relaxes us for some time, because it's a story, we just feel good. But we have to receive that salvation, otherwise there is suffering and suffering and suffering and suffering in this world. That which seems to be pleasure today can turn out to be suffering within no time.

But there is something very, very important in this life. We come into this world just so that we can realize this life, so that we can learn to lead it properly And Guru Maharaj Ji comes, but who is Guru Maharaj Ji? Guru Maharaj Ji is a person, because he comes in a body, and what he does is show us the way, the path to salvation. So that this life doesn't just end six feet under the ground or in the holy River Ganges or lit up by fire. He shows us that there is a definite meaning to this life, so that this precious life is not just wasted: that is why Guru Maharaj Ji comes. In one sense, "Guru Maharaj Ji" is just a Hindi name that became very popular. But you can also calI him "Perfect Master," because he has perfected perfectness, he can teach us perfectness, and he can guide us along those lines. We call the person who teaches us a "Master," and if he teaches us perfectness, we can call him "Perfect Master." And that's what he is. He comes into this world to help us find the meaning of this life.

A lot of people come to me and say, "Guru Maharaj Ji, what about reincarnation?" My answer is, "Look I don't know, because I have never died and come back again. I don't know, I am living
right now, and that's about all I know. And what the Scriptures say, I don't say, because I don't know. I haven't written them, and I am not going to guarantee what they say. I can
guarantee Knowledge, but I cannot guarantee anything about reincarnation." So, why don't we just forget about reincarnation? Knowledge is not going to hurt you. We all need salvation, we all
need this Knowledge anyway. Whether or not we are going to be reincarnated, we all need this Knowledge - in this lifetime, now. And so let's do that.

And on one side, a complete salvation, a complete merge, a complete -- complete complete! No more ifs, ands and buts. So what are we going to take? Which one are we going to choose? … And Guru Maharaj Ji says: Come! Come to me. Take those three steps, and I'll take my 3,000, and let's complete the cycle. Let's go beyond, become one, and go beyond all these chakras, go beyond all these imaginations, go beyond all these concepts, and merge with what reality really is, merge with what Truth really is, merge with what we are supposed to merge with.

But what we really need in our lives, unless we get that -- what we really need in our lives, unless we really believe in that -- unless we have all our faith in that instead of in this materialistic world, I can't tell you what's possible. There are possibly no words to say what is in fact possible. Because that Knowledge brings us the reality that we all seek. That Knowledge brings us the Truth that we all want. That Knowledge brings us who we really are. And only the true realization, only by the Grace of Guru Maharaj Ji, is that possible. And so our key, obviously, is Guru Maharaj Ji. And that's where we have to have our faith. That's where we have to have our trust. I mean, how incredible is it? How could it be more perfect than to have this world, to have the burning, to have the suffering and yet have a salvation out of it? Only by Guru Maharaj Ji's Grace.

There will be a time when the sun will disappear. Definitely. Slowly and slowly - poof! There'll be a time when the Earth will stop. Definitely. And yet the power that created it - the sun, the moon, the Earth - that will never stop. And if we can just plug into that source, if we can just plug into that power, then what are we? We go to the stage beyond liberation, beyond salvation, beyond everything and be in that permanent stage. If you call it happy, then it's happiness. You call it peace, then it's peace. But whatever that thing, whatever the stage of that thing is that created this everything, that sustains everything - that stage is what we want to be in. Because it's motionless, it's timeless. There is no sun; there is no moon, in that stage. There is no heat; there is no cold. There is no hunger; there is no thirst. There is no death and there is no birth. And it always is.

"My heart that has been constantly been pouncing in the waves of this world will be then docked at Guru Maharaj Ji's feet. You know. Then that will be my salvation, that will be my liberation, that, then, then I will be content. Then I don't have to make any more journeys because then it becomes my destination and it is my destination."

Because why has that Power been described as, "You are my mother; you are my father"? Because it helps us. It guides us. It supports us, teaches us, brings us up in that love, in that joy, in that faith. Me, I'm going to always, in my life … You know, there is a feeling of salvation. There is a feeling of liberation. There is even a feeling that, "Maybe someday I'll become just like a lawyer, where you go to school, you study and then you quit. That's it." No. I'm going to always need my teacher. I'm going to always need my Guru Maharaj Ji. I'm always going to need that Power who'll always be filling my heart with love. In Him, in His Feet, I'll find my salvation, find my liberation. What is liberation - to be liberated, to be freed? And as it says, "Who else has the Holy Name to free me from maya? Who else loves the weary and the weak? Where shall I go, leaving your Lotus Feet? Where would I go?" Because that's it.

That is how people paid homage at this place and you know my mother always did this, this is ritually she always did this. My father was sitting in the front, Shri Maharaji was sitting in the front and so she got her little coins in her hand to throw this then he asked her, "What are you going to do with this?" "I'm going to throw it at the temple." He said, "Why?" "Well because you know maybe I'll have salvation, or I'll be free. I'll have liberation." "So do you know by throwing this coin you'll get it? " She said, "No, everybody does it." He said, "Give me the coin I'll make sure you do have liberation." (applause) And uh, she didn't give him the coin (laughter) she just tossed it out the window (laughter) and I just about died laughing. (Laughter) And there goes the liberation, poof, right out the window and this I witnessed myself.

There's this one person I knew very well and in fact this person every time we would drive back from Delhi to where I was Dehra Dun or Prem Nagar or wherever we were going, in India there's abundance of temples and this person had a few favorite temples and every time we were the car was driving of course and the car would pass by a temple, the person would know that the car is going to be passing in a few minutes by a temple, the person would open up uh you know whatever it was, a wallet or a purse or whatever it was (laughter, they already know the story) take out the uh take out the uh the 25 you know worth cents in Indian paises, get it ready, the temple approaches, boom boom boom, down with the windshield and a nice chuck out the window and roll it back up. My father asked one time what this person was doing throwing all this money out the window ha ha ha and the person said they were doing it for salvation and um he said uh "Look, give me all the money, I'll guarantee you salvation." (extreme laughter) So for this, for this person you know this is the kind of environment I was grown in, you just, you just take a took a take a look you're going 50 miles an hour, whew, aim for it. If you can make it that day, you got salvation, if you don't make it that day, tough luck and when do you find out, when you reach the pearly gates whether you made it or not.

Have you seen worms? Have you seen ants? I can understand what it means to be born as an ant or worm in your next birth. That's why it has been said:
It is rarely attained even by gods, as scriptures say.
It is actually the means to practice Knowledge and the gateway to salvation"
Joy Is Possible
To a question from a person wanting to know the difference between real joy and salvation, he said that, with Knowledge, a person gets joy from a place within where there is everything. When that place is reached, a person experiences a deep joy that is a door to salvation.

Why are there so many explanations of how to get to heaven? "This is how you get to salvation; this is how you get to heaven. Just do this, this, this. No problem." When people tell me this, I always say, "Are you coming with me to guarantee it?" What if at the gates of heaven, they said, "Nope." Then I'll call that person over and say, "Talk to this guy. He said no." And, of course, I would tell the person, "I have two pieces of bad news: one, I'm not getting in; and, two, you're not getting in, either."

The last quote does make one wonder. Prem Rawat has his own explanation for how to get to heaven and achieve salvation - the only way is through obeying him. At least he admits he won't be getting into heaven.
