I recently came across an internet post about Prem Rawat's former Gulfstream G650 N650PR. Apparently Prem had had this beauty exotically customised and naturally the Learjet buff assumed he must be a billionaire to own a G650. In fact a consortium of Prem Rawat's wealthy followers owned the jet as a tax dodge and leased it to a company controlled by Prem for his exclusive use. It developed that Prem had gone out on a financial limb being gnawed by rats and could not afford the cost of the G650 which was sold to a NIKE billionaire but naturally retained its serial number N650PR. Prem Rawat is no billionaire and will not be signing up to the THE GIVING PLEDGE - he doesn't have enough money.

So How Can Prem Rawat Afford to Live Like a Billionaire?

In the early 1970s Prem Rawat, then calling himself Guru Maharaj Ji aka the Lord of the Universe, convinced a few tens of thousands of Western hippie youth that he was God incarnated in that fat ugly body. Once once this really stupid idea dug in then every year that all He promised and predicted didn't eventuate (see the Festinger Effect) they believed in Him even more strongly.

Rawatism Rule Number 1: Prem must live in luxurious opulence and this those ageing thousands have been able to accomplish. He has never had any employment but as the divine leader of this cult that has continued for 50 years and all this time secret donations from those devotees has supported Him.

Rawat has developed some assets that will help His children once He is dead - a large number of luxury homes - He has become a property mogul.
