Hans Jayanti '73

Hans Jayanti 1970 has become known as the Peace Bomb Explosion. It was there that Maharaj Ji wept in front of the huge crowd because he was feeling the immense power of His Knowledge (upper far left). The procession that formed for the Peace Bomb Explosion was 15 miles long and took ten hours to pass through the city. Maharaj Ji rode in a sedan during the procession (lower far left). Maharaj Ji was greeted at Delhi's Palam Airport in 1971 by an enthusiastic crowd of devotees. A temporary stage was constructed for Maharaj Ji to return the premie's greetings (upper center). Maharaj Ji gave satsang during Hans Jayanti '71 at the Ram Lila grounds in Delhi and in Patna, India. He gave a few minutes of satsang in English for the westerners then gave the rest of his discourses in Hindi (lower center). Guru Maharaj Ji spoke to a crowd of several hundred thousand during the three days of Hans Jayanti 1972 in Delhi's Ram Lila grounds. At the front of the crowd are the mahatmas followed by the western premies (top). After the Hans Jayanti festival in Delhi, the western premies moved to Prem Nagar ashram, near Hardwar. There, they meditated and listened to the sat-sang of Guru Maharaj Ji and mahatmas (above right). Maharaj Ji wore His regal attire on the second and third nights of Millennium '73. On the second evening He was crowned for the first time in the West (above left). A seven tiered stage was pre-fabricated and then assembled in a matter of hours for the Millennium '73 celebration. Maharaj Ji's throne was backed by a lighted lucite teardrop. On the bleachers behind the stage were massive "Shri Hans swans" made from crepe paper stuffed into chicken wire (below).
