Premlata
Guru Maharaj Ji is asked the significance of the birth. "The significance of the birth," he replies, "is that she's here and she's alive … another person. She'll be able to help me with my work."
And she already has. Premlata's very birth inspired premies to meditate, and turned a worldwide network - of telephone and telegraph cables, of organizational lines of communication and personal ties - into a beautiful vine of love, encircling the world, tying together premies into one point of consciousness, and one point of love.
1975: We Can Do It
Our income comes from donations; the income apart from donations is almost insignificant. In 1974, 90% of the donations came from ashram residents - less than 1 /50th of the total number of premies. In the latter half of 1974 we started the Active Membership Program, hoping that the rest of the vast majority of premies might understand the situation and come forward to support Maharaj Ji's mission in a consistent and regular way. Now AMP has been started, though it isn't in full swing, and the scales are slowly beginning to shift.
International
DUO will be the backbone. We must start operating on the same systems throughout the world. This is the perfect time to start. Everything must be stabilized. I want to make it perfect. This organization was started by Shri Maharaj Ji and this is a service I am doing for Him. It must be perfect. We must get to the point where we are one million minds, but only one idea. All decisions will be made by Guru Maharaj Ji and orders will be given to each country so that all we have to do is follow them."
Nobody Even Knew
A Letter From Guru Maharaj Ji 26 October 1974
Bal Bhagwan Ji, at least, saw the handwriting on the wall and strongly suspected that Durga Ji would soon be our Lord's wife. At one point he even flew secretly to Denver from Australia to try to persuade Guru Maharaj Ji to return to India, behave more traditionally, and denounce Raja Ji. Guru Maharaj Ji asked Bob and I to meet Bal Bhagwan Ji at the Denver airport and have him return to India. We spent hours with Bal Bhagwan Ji that night trying to explain to him that as far as we were concerned Guru Maharaj Ji was Guru Maharaj Ji and could do what he wanted and didn't want to be pressured into behaving according to someone else's norms and customs, etc.
National News
It's hard to believe but when you put together enough grass roots, you get a lawn. Although there are only 572 members of Monastic Divine Light Mission Inc., you will be happy to note the growth of DLM UNincorporated. In 1974, 5700 people received Knowledge in the United States bringing our total records of U.S. premies-at-large up to 32,000. But since we only started counting somewhere in '72, there are probably another 18,000 of us out there someplace whose names somehow got lost in the bliss of it all between their hometown and Denver's Data Department.
The Year Inside
Guru Maharaj Ji gave 62 satsangs in 24 cities in 1974. Of all these, only five were public programs. 1974 was the year Maharaj Ji spoke to and united his family of premies. He toured extensively, covering every region of the United States, and visited Europe and the Far East.
Looks like he did about 160 hours of work in the year where work is sitting giving a speech or sitting, having your feet kissed and accepting money. That's about 4 weeks work.

It's so beautiful, because you have been given a role in the movie. But don't forget: if you don't perform this good, you going to be edited out. And that's it.

Have Your Cake And Eat It Too The Divine Society, Part II
Is it possible to have your cake and eat it too? Must human life be a compromise between frustration and satisfaction, or can life be an uninterrupted flow of happiness?
The answer is yes and no depending upon one crucial factor: Knowledge, which brings the experience of unity into our lives. We hope to show throughout this series how Knowledge can solve common dilemmas of life.
