Maharaji: Amaroo, From Vision to Reality 1998
A puff piece put together in the hope of getting more premies to come to Amaroo, donate for Amaroo and participate, or as it was formerly called, do service, not necessarily at Amaroo. Calling for participation was a neverending call with special 'events' such as an Amaroo 1997 Participation, an Alexandria Participation event 2000 and even calls from Linda Pascotto, and EV were researching the followers. This ongoing activity shows there was never a response that Maharaji and his minions considered adequate and in 2006 Maharaji 'realised' it would "require a lot of strategic planning" to get newly initiated premies to participate and stop dropping out. Fat chance.
I went to Amaroo at Peak Crossing maybe a dozen times to help my wife plant trees and do gardening. It was degraded grazing land and apart from the views of Ivorys Rock it didn't have a lot to recommend it. The investment of millions of dollars in infrastructure has certainly prettied it up a lot. The heat can be brutal and the landscape is more often brown and dusty than green and vibrant. In the 1990s when I went there, most premies had picked up Maharaji's bad habit and were standing around smoking. It turned out to be cheaper to hire professional labour to maintain the grounds than use premie volunteer labour who damaged the equipment. The initial pool of counter culture dropouts that Guru Maharaj Ji attracted in the 1970s did not contain many mechanics, truck drivers, machinery operators or farmers.
Maharaji: Amaroo, From Vision to Reality 1998

As it was, thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of years ago, as it was even here, on this land as aborigines roamed about, living, existing, surviving. And there was something, something to do with the essence of life, something to do with enjoyment of this existence. My God! if this is a dream? what is reality like? (super deep and meaningful)If this is a dream? what is it like to be awake? This is an incredible place

It was always there. I mean, every valley or every mountain or everything that's here, something incredible was meant to happen. And now it's time has come, so has ours, to be in this incredible, beautiful, wonderful place.
This is quite pretty, a totally different kind of feeling in here. Making it a reality, making the joy of reality, making the dream come true. You realize that being in a place like this, we're this close, and you can touch it, you can touch it, you can feel it, you can actually feel joy in your life, every day. You can feel in your life every day. You can feel being there. I mean dreams coming true, it's like, almost incredible.
I could have never imagined it being this beautiful. Um I could I couldn't have imagined at the beginning of the year that there will even be an event here. But it's all it's all happening. As much as there is effort required, there's also that much effort required to enjoy being here. And there's a lot to do. But you have to remember where it belongs. And there's only one thing that really belongs at the top. And that's for you to enjoy. Enjoy being here. Fulfill that heart.
There is a joy that comes from being involved. The history of this doesn't exist in 1996, or 95, or 94. It goes back thousands of years. The history of being involved, making available, being a part of something, that is precious to you. That is important to you. It's going to take a lot of people making effort to make it nice. It's not only a question of being able to come up here and do service. But it's also very important of how that service is done. Service is an expression. It's an expression of gratitude. Something that you feel. But it has to be done coming from that sincere place. Coming from that generation. Otherwise it's not an expression. It becomes a duty. And it cannot be a duty. It has to be an expression. Every single time.
This broadcast, following the event live, will be happening on 88.3 megahertz. And you'll be able to hear live my voice when I'm talking. Once again, we'll commence music on two of the channels. And still troubleshooting to the other channels, but they'll be up and running too. And when they are, it'll be wonderful programming all day long. Find a nice shady spot, sit back, relax, enjoy.
(Daya Rawat Song) Through destruction, finding creation. Mountains to hills. The raging waters of the seasons. Forge the beautiful valley. Through the powers of nature. The unfolding of …
Announcement: I'd like to make an announcement that Maharaji will be speaking at the Ugali Slopes if everyone could please make their way over there.

Thank you. Welcome to this beautiful place. Oh, by the way, today at five o'clock, I've been told that the new showers and toilets will be up and running. The new block. Next time, we'll build some more. Okay, so more people can stay here and then hopefully more and more and more and more. So there's a lot lot lot to be done. And one last thing that I'd like to say is I think that we should be all very thankful to the premies who have been busting their rear ends off here. Okay, they have been working very, very hard. (applause)
Bye! Bye! Bon appétit.

(Kim O'Leary song) People standing in the rain. With the fire of love to keep them warm. The feeling would not change.
You know, I could do this all day, one more day again. (applause) They've already got their return tickets. I don't know what they're all excited about. All those are unemployed. (laughter) Nowhere to go back to.
(Kim O'Leary song) Travel cross the desert sands, Time is slipping through my hands, but the journey finally brought me home, This is where my heart belongs.
This is the journey's end. The beautiful place. Amaroo, that's what Amaroo means. The beautiful place in the local dialect or one of the aborigine dialects.
(Kim O'Leary song) I was drawn here by longing in my soul. And in every moment spent with you, the mystery unfolds. A palace made of love belongs to every man. It can't be touched by day or night. It only exists within.

You have to realize that for as long as Knowledge was being given, there was never a place actually able to do it there. The one in Australia is quite a showcase. It's magnificent. Of course, just because it has mostly windows and you just look out and there's this incredible view. Gorgeous, gorgeous hall.
This is going to be very hard to leave here. It was so beautiful.

(Song Kim O'Leary) The journey finally brought me home. This is where my heart belongs.
The opportunity that is being presented is much broader than Knowledge itself if you are willing to take it. If you are willing to take it. The opportunity that is being presented here is to be a part of what it means to be there to help the Master. To be there to help. Be a part of the magic. The magic that this Knowledge is. So, welcome again to Amaroo. Have a blast.
(Daya Rawat song: Teach Me Devotion) If you want to wander and roam, Go on, go on, Till you're tired and you want to come home, Come home, come home, back to Maharaji, Maharaji holds the key, Maharaji holds the key.
Maharaji has come to show us along in the path of perfection. He has come to make us feel why we're alive. His love is purer, deeper than the ocean. Please open our hearts and let us be in love.
And we're asking please, please, please teach me devotion. Maharaji please show me I'm ready to start. I can see that your love is deeper than the ocean. Please open our hearts and let us be in love.

And we're asking please, please, please teach me devotion. Maharaji please show me I'm ready to start. I can see that your love is deeper than the ocean. Come to my heart and let me be in love. We're asking please, please, please teach us devotion. Come to my heart and let me be in love.
Thank you.
