Maharaji: Infinite & Finite E194
I'm with people who want to learn, I love it!
Words of Peace: Maharaji, Infinite & Finite E194
You are more complete than you will ever know. You have within you the greatest treasure. You have within you the greatest clarity.
You have within you the greatest feeling. You have within you the greatest truth. Indeed, you have within you the God you have been looking for.
Prem Rawat, widely known by the honorary title Maharaji, has dedicated his life to spreading a simple message that each person has a source of peace and fulfillment inside themselves. At the age of three, he began inspiring audiences in India where he would speak at events held by his father, an honored teacher. And at the age of eight, he took on the commitment of bringing to the world a message of peace and offering a practical way to attain it. When he was 13, his simple yet powerful message began attracting the attention of people from around the world and he began receiving invitations to speak from nearly every continent [as Guru Maharaj Ji, The Lord of the Universe]. To date, he has addressed audiences in 50 countries and over 250 cities. He has been invited to speak at several United Nations venues [ U.N. Associations not the U.N.]and at universities such as Harvard University [in a rented room] in the U.S. and Oxford University [in a rented room] in the U.K. He has also been an honored guest at civic forums like the Universal Forum of Cultures in Barcelona and the Italian and Australian parliament [in a rented room]. His dedication to helping people extends to humanitarian work as well. He founded the Prem Rawat Foundation to provide aid to people throughout the world who lack basic necessities like food, clean water, and health care. [rubbish:: TPRF gives aid of $0.5 million p.a.] Today, he continues to travel the world, bringing his message to new audiences and inspiring those already familiar with his message of peace.
The thirst is always there to be fulfilled. And that is the real thirst. Those wants that I have in my life, that have not changed since I was a child. Do you know those wants? Do you know what they are? The promises you made to yourself to always fulfill those wants, have you kept them up? Have you looked? Have you searched? For that, that has always been within you. You have searched outside. But have you searched inside? This is why this is so different.
This is why my message is so different. Because everybody points outside, I point inside. I say what you need, you already have.
Kiwi young woman: I was looking for peace, because my life to me was in turmoil, absolute turmoil, and I wanted peace. I wanted a place to settle. I wanted peace of mind, not peace physically, but peace of mind.
Aussie young woman: I was really ready for just to be able to access really beautiful feelings inside of me without having to do that via external processes. I remember writing down once, there was a question and it said, what do you want in life? And I just remember writing, I want to be happy. And I just felt, I didn't know what it was going to be that was going to make me happy. But, and it wasn't like I wanted a red car or I wanted this, it was just, but I really really thought about it. At the end of the day, I wanted to be happy.
Who are you? You. There is one part of you that always was, is, and will be. One part of you that makes you, you. This could become a pumpkin, come back as eggplant, because it is just dirt, it's just dirt. Dirt will mix into dirt, the next thing you know, it could be coming up as a jackfruit tree, it could be coming up as a flower, it could be coming up as an eggplant, it could be coming up as a banana. Actually, it's not much of a difference. The molecules are molecules. But what makes you, you, is the union of the two. The infinite and the finite have come together. That one part of you that always will be, will be, was, was, but it wasn't you. And will be, but it won't be you. You, is those two have come together.
And so far those are together. Possibilities exist. And of all the possibilities, one of the possibilities that exists is this finite machine can feel the infinite. As close as they can get. Feel. It's a feeling machine. This is what you've been given. Feeling machine. It feels, feels, feels. That's what it does. And not only does it feel it does something else. When it feels something good, it likes it. It smiles. It becomes content. It actually becomes happy. Happy. This is not me just saying this, but this is what so many have said, so many people have said. Plug this machine. You keep plugging it into the world trying to be happy. It's like walking along and going try this, try that, try that, try that. And you know, it brings happiness and then it fizzles out, brings happiness, fizzles out, brings happiness, fizzles out.
Hey, instead of plugging it into all these things, plug it in to that infinite that's in you. And fireworks. Bless, contentment, joy. All become yours.
Kiwi young woman: I just became very aware of how we run around in circles and we try and satisfy ourselves and gratify needs and desires through external, in external ways and processes. And for me, it was just so beautiful to be able to sit there and just to be able to feel so wonderful by watching someone and listening to them.
Spanish monkish man with a mustache: Before, I looked or things very much outside. My happiness, peace, love … I looked for it outside, in thins, in other people, in going ot, in friends. But then I realized, that this happiness is very fragile. It goes away very easily. It's not real. It's based on other people and other things. This peson, this thing, this result, makes it possible for me to be happy, to be in peace, to feel love. But happiness is something we have inside.
Woman: Before, people used to tell me, you know, that, I mean, how do I do to be happy all the time, you know? And I guess it was because I was young, you know, you see things, you know, so into detail and you worry much, I guess. But so I remember that I lost that, you know, people weren't telling me that anymore. And every time I would hear him, I'm like, yeah, why he says it's what I want.
To feel that in our lives, a clarity, a simplicity, an understanding, not just questions, not just questions, but to have the answers as well. Not just the problems of the world, but a solution that lies within the heart of every single human being. Listen to what I am saying. Listen to what I am saying, because I am not here to tell you that you are incomplete. See, a lot of people sit there in their seats and they go, hmm, and they're thinking about everything I'm saying. Thinking, thinking, thinking. Is that true? Isn't that true? Is that true? Isn't that true? Is that true? Isn't that true? But listen to what I'm saying. Without judgment, listen to what I'm saying, and you will find that what I am saying to you is that everything you want, everything you are looking for is already inside of you. You are more complete than you will ever know.
This is what I'm talking about. I'm not here to tell you you are incomplete. You are too used to listening to that. This is what everybody has told you. Everybody tells you what you have. Everybody tells you how incomplete you are. And you listen to all this, and you start believing it. Enough times we listen to some of this stuff, and we say, oh, that must be me. That must be me. And then, then somebody comes along and says, look, what you're looking for is inside of you. Your God is inside of you. You are complete. All you need is a mirror to see this. And most people cannot understand that. It's sad. It's sad. But they cannot understand that you can find your heaven now and not only find it, but enjoy it too. Not only can you find your peace now, but enjoy the peace too.
And when I say peace, what peace am I talking about? There is a peace that you can imagine, and then there is a peace that you cannot imagine. Ah, the peace that you cannot imagine. That's the peace I'm talking about. Why can't you imagine it? Maybe you have no reference. To most people, to most people, when they go to a place that is really quiet, you know what they say? Oh, it's so peaceful. So then a person who cannot hear is in peace. There are people who take vows of silence because they want to be in peace. They won't talk to anyone. They'll be quiet.
I have seen people who are deaf, who are mute, having an argument. They're taking their fingers, and they're talking to each other, and they're arguing, and they're fighting with their sign language. Because there is a peace that is conceived, and there is a peace that is real. A peace that is conceived will change. When the wars are happening, what is the definition of peace? No war. When the war stops, what is the definition of peace? Better crops. No drought. Better economy. Better this. Better that. But there is a peace beyond all this. A peace that dances in the heart of every single human being.
Vic Marsh: Listening to Maharaj is like listening to my heart. He perfectly articulates the needs of my heart. Everything else feeds my mind, and some of it's quite useful. But he speaks my heart, you know.
Kiwi: It was a freedom. That's what it was, a freshness and a freedom that he spoke about. And every word he said hit a nerve in my head, you know. It triggered off something that I thought, oh yeah, oh yeah. And it just kept going, and it just absolutely mesmerised me when I saw him.
Woman with English 2nd Language: As I listen to him, my respect for his humanity really is what constantly uplifts me, listening to him. His connection with how people are feeling, and his ability to bring humour into that, and for me to lighten my humanity when I listen to him. And I love that, because I could take myself very seriously.
What does it mean to be pure? There are two times you will be your very self, absolutely your very self. One is when you were born, no pretenses, none, couldn't afford, didn't know. And then there'll be one other time, the last.
You wake up in the morning, and you are with a person you love, and you say, good morning. This good morning is not so simple, huh? This good morning sounds innocent. Good morning. It's not so innocent. Because it has to be replied appropriately. There are expectations here. And if the good morning comes off as, go away, you idiot. What happens? I said good morning, and you said, go away, you idiot. No, there are expectations. In this declaration, you have not just said good morning, you have actually said, do you still like me? I am saying I love you, do you love me too? Are we okay? Is everything okay? Good morning has nothing to do with good morning. And what if there was utter silence? You got up in the morning, you saw your wife, there she is, she's got her coffee in her hand, she's drinking her coffee, you came and you said, good morning. And your wife just looked at you. What did I do wrong? What happened? What's the matter? Are you mad? Are you upset? There is a relationship in which a good morning really means good morning. And the reason why it's good is not because of the sunshine, not because of Sunday, not because you have won the lottery. No, good morning, because the gift of breath came into you.
You're alive.
Aussie man: He's trained me how to be a student. So he really is my teacher. You could say, well, life is the one teaching me all the lessons, but no, I listen to Muraji and he has very practical things to say.
To have the chance to continually learn how to be a human being that is fulfilling something of its potential, it's amazing.
It's been a message that is reminding me to focus inside and to see what is important in my life. I think that if I didn't have that, I know where I would be, what I would do.
Now I see Maharaji as my teacher. And he's the first thing that really pushes me to go within. Nothing else has done that in my life. And I think I naturally incline to go outside. So it's a source of strength and a source of hope.
We're alive, we're human beings, we're alive. We should interact. Any which way I could help you out, cool. That's what I'm here for. And I can. I have a gift. And I love life. And I love that people learn in their lives. I can teach. And when I am with people who want to learn, I love it.
Young Israeli woman?: I feel lost in my everyday life and all the obligations that I have that I think that I can't focus on myself. And I know how to start. If you could help me with that, I would be real grateful.
Have you ever untangled, like, you have a piece of string or something like that and it's all tangled up, you know, and you go to untangle it and you start one and then you see there's another one and then it goes through another one and pretty soon you start working all of them, you know. And so it's not just one tangle. It's like the whole tangle will get untangled. And what you feel tangled with is you see one thing that you have, this world and your problems or whatever it is, and how you want to be. So how do you go from here to there? And it's not, you have to understand, why is it here? And what is this? Who's showing you this picture? Is it your heart? Or is it another tangled picture on top of that tangled, tangled thing? Because if that's what it is, even if you get here, you're going to go, I'm still tangled. What is this? Where does this feeling come from that wants you to untangle? That is a simple, beautiful place inside of you. And that is there. Rejoice. Be happy that it's there.
You see this big room? How big a lamp will it take to remove the darkness from this room? Tiny. Tiny. Doesn't have to be huge. Just a little flame, lit, sitting somewhere, will bring light to all this room. You have to take a bucket and try to throw the darkness out. You can't. Light the lamp. The lamp of Knowledge. The lamp of wanting that light in your life. And you know what will happen? The darkness, the confusion, the tangles, it's the same name for different things, will disappear. Will disappear. The relationship of light and darkness is such. One little lamp can chase the darkness. It may not be brightly lit. It may not be lit so that you could read a newspaper. I mean, this is one of the tests that people have. But the darkness will be gone. And that's how simple it is. So rejoice that you have this want. Accept it. Understand it. And be attracted by it. That you have this want. That you have this thirst. That you do want it untangled. Lot of people have the tangled ball. And what have they done? They have learned to live with the tangled ball. This is how they spend their time. Learning to live with the tangled ball. This is what I do. Go around and tell people, You have to live with the tangled ball. It can be untangled.
In spite of ever-growing audiences, Prem Rawat's message is directed at each individual who comes to hear him. For those who wish to make peace a reality in their lives, he offers inspiration and guidance. And his promise remains as personal and practical as ever.
I offer the possibility of knowing. Knowing you! So that you can be as happy and as free as you can be.
