In late 2006 Rawat realized that he still had a massive problem, a HUGE drop-out rate after people had been "revealed" the Techniques of Knowledge. This was something that had always occurred, quite understandably, it was a huge letdown for nearly all peple even in the early 1970s days of success. He had spent over 30 years trying to create a foolpoof "brainwashing" system but the very exaggeration and hype that attracted deople also created the setting for the letdown.

Simultaneuusly he realised that very few of his folllowers were involved in the activities of Elan Vital and this vital third pillar of Knowledge, service, was missing. Getting new people involved might the key that locks them onto the Master. Discussing this state of afairs reveals that Rawat believes his dedicatged followers are unable to co-operate adequately and they need rule and regulations to get them in line, the SAMT: Service Area Mangagement Training. Apparently the Trainings in 1999-2000 were unsuccessful in creating co-operation.

somebody who has all realized everything, just like a zombie.

What Can You Do? PWK-035

I just wanted to talk to you about the SAMT, the Service Area Management Training. Most important thing, you know, everybody knows that there is something called Knowledge. And, of course, it's important to listen to the Master. And the third Pillar, the three Pillars of Knowledge, one of the Pillars is to Participate. For a long time, this just kept getting overlooked and overlooked and nobody wanted to talk about it. And I can understand why, because it wasn't very pleasurable, not very enjoyable. And so, to me, that's not right. Every realm of Knowledge, every realm that you come in touch with that has something to do with Knowledge is very, very enjoyable. But, things happen, and we live in this world as human beings.

Maharaji 2007

Everybody has their little personality, and, you know, like I always say, those truck drivers in India, they drive in the middle of the road, they rule the road. And the reason why they rule the road is they don't rule anything at home. So when they get out onto the road, it's like, I'm going to rule this, and they do. And that's why they refuse to budge. And a lot of people, you know, they come with very good intention to want to participate, but at some level, it's like somebody's there and they've got issues of, I'm going to rule this, you know, like the Indian truck drivers. And that's where everything kind of goes nasty, because you're dealing with people's concepts and people's ideas. A lot of times, when people come to actually participate, they're also bringing a lot of excess baggage with them. You know, somebody says, well, where's the stage going to be? I think it would look pretty over there, you know. No, no, I think it should be over there, but you can't have four stages, because then where will the entry be? So it'll be four stages, one mirage, and nobody to talk to. But this is kind of stuff that sometimes happens, and I understand this people's personalities and so on and so forth.

Maharaji 2007So this year, I really wanted to take some time and say, look, we can't have that. So that's how Service Area Management Training came about, so that it's very clean, it's very simple, and most importantly, that they make it enjoyable for all the participants.

Now, I know there are people here who are like, what is this? You know, this is never going to work, and just, you know, optimism, generally, coming from the experience of their life. But I have to say that at this point in time, it is at a very infant stage, at a very, very fragile and infant stage. And people are making an effort, trainings are happening, and really, the main part of SAMT is to you, to all of you who would be participating, what can you do? Not to tell you what you should be doing, but what can you do? So somebody says, you know, I'm a doctor.

Great, we need doctors, we need doctors. And to help facilitate them, where their expertise can be best used. For a long time, it used to be, let us tell you what you're going to do. Now it's not, we're not going to tell you what you're going to do. What can you do? What are you good at? Whatever it may be. Somebody goes, well, all I can do is make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Needed. You know, somebody goes, I can't even do that. All I can do is get water. Needed. Needed. So this is the evolution that it is kind of going towards. And the most important thing is that the feeling of participation has to come from your heart. It cannot be a mandatory thing. It has to come from your heart. But what is happening around the world? People are excited. People are excited about Knowledge. People are excited about the Possibility of Peace in their lives. This is a very exciting possibility. It always has been. Because fundamentally, what are we talking about? You know, somebody can, something can happen to somebody, and maybe they're sad, really, really sad.

And that one thing is preoccupying them. Oh, yeah, yeah, you know, maybe somebody wants a job and they were rejected, or somebody just was told they're fired, you know. It could be anything. It doesn't matter. And the person is preoccupied, and they're going, you know, don't you want to be thankful for this? I don't know. It's a miserable day. And this is what happens, because we judge our day by what we accomplish. This is what we're told. Remember all those independent people who think for themselves? Gee, they think very similarly to everyone else on the face of this earth, all that independent thinking. People say, you know, that's what I accomplished, that's what's important. I say that what has been accomplished, that you're alive, that's what's important. Is that another way of thinking? Or is it what is really happening? Wake up. Your issues, I understand. I'm not degrading them. I'm not undermining your issues. But don't you undermine your existence, because if you undermine your existence, you've got a problem. You've got a problem.

It's a pilot who does not acknowledge he's in the air. What is really happening? Yesterday, I turned on Weather Channel, and I saw this little show. And this one guy was sick on a fishing boat, so they dispatched this helicopter to come and rescue him. Well, as that helicopter was dispatched, the weather started getting worse and worse and worse and worse. So they launched a C-130 to provide them support in the air. Well, the helicopter is getting in worse weather, worse weather. It is just they cannot see anything. It's getting dark. And right at the last moment, the pilots decide, gee, we better get out our night vision goggles so we can see where we're going. And right then, boom, they contacted water. So to me, it was like, gee, if you had those night vision goggles, maybe one of the guys should have put them on a little earlier so he could have seen what he was going to hit. The tools were right with them. But no. No, no, no, no, no, no. We can do this. Boom. And now, there is the C-130. The sick guy is still there with a bleeding ulcer. The sick guy is still there. He has not been rescued. And now, they've got like five people on this little island who need to be rescued because the weather is so bad. And who's going to rescue them? It is very, very important in life to keep your facts straight. Not twisted up, not mixed up. Keep it very, very straight. Life is, in one moment, in one hand, on one side, very forgiving. If you screw up a whole day, you still get another one. There's no judgment per se. And on one hand, life is so forgiving. And on the other hand, it is not. It's both. And you, what do you want to do? What do you want in your life? What do you want in this existence? Every day. Every day, you have the possibility to feel good. Not good like, ha-ha, good. Good like content with an inside.

Maharaji 2007

There are no markers. It's not like you go around all day long, smiling. Some people think that that means you're happy. Some people think, oh, yeah, somebody who has all realized everything, just like a zombie. People still don't believe I crack jokes. That's like so unorthodox. I mean, I should just come here. That's what people think. So, all these ideas float around, all these things happen, and we get caught in it. So, somebody maybe comes along and points, and it's like, hey, this is all okay. This is all okay. You know, it's okay to point out how vulnerable sand is, that it shifts. It's okay to point that out. But it's also okay to look at your own foundation of your house and make sure that it is not just sitting on sand. It's okay to go criticize, oh, look where that guy built his house, on the edge of a cliff.

That's okay. But it's also a good idea to look at your own house. Am I sitting on a cliff, too? I mean, it's like using that same wisdom a little bit on your own self and going what's important. So, when it comes to participation, now, I know there's a lot of aspirants here, and you know, you haven't yet connected with all the Pillars of Knowledge. You don't have Knowledge yet, and you're going through the Keys. So, enjoy that process. But there's a lot of people who have Knowledge, and certainly I don't want anything to be a surprise for you after you receive Knowledge. This is one of the things I did in the Keys. Nothing will be a surprise.

You go through the Keys, you know exactly what's going to be happening and how you can continue to enjoy Knowledge. So, you're in a very, very, very beautiful part, you know, where your focus is just listening and going, hmm, hmm, hmm. You're turning on light bulbs where, believe me, you never thought light bulbs existed, you know.

And it's so beautiful. That's such a beautiful, beautiful part. It's the part of learning, really, really learning, hmm, and connecting the possibilities. So, do so, and thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy that process. And those who have Knowledge, they want to participate. Nothing is a must. You realize this. You know, this is so unlike religion. There's nobody comes here thumping, you have to do this. No. Do you have to practice Knowledge? Only if you want to. Do you have to go through keys? Only if you want to. Do you have to come here? Only if you want to. Do you have to stay here? Only if you want to. This is true for both of us. I'm not here because I have to be here. Because I want to be here. I don't have to teach you. I want to. You don't have to learn. But if you want to, the possibilities are.

After you receive Knowledge, do you have to practice? Only if you want to. Do you have to do participation? Only if you want to. Do you have to listen? Only if you want to. The only favor I ask is you let heart decide certain things in your life. That's all. And how simple and precious it can be if all of us around the world, all those people who have discovered this possibility And people are so excited. You saw that footage of Nepal, everybody coming down and rushing. You see their face? You see their face? Everybody's got a smile on their face. mean, God knows how long they've been waiting and this and that. And it's like, yes! And where did they come from? From Kathmandu? No. Bus rides through mountains. Two days, three days. They come. They come. And if you can be empowered, and you should be empowered, in every which way that you can enjoy it. Whatever it takes. Beautiful spectrums. Beautiful colors. Beautiful fragrances of life. Of being alive. Dancing. Somewhere. You know, maybe you're sitting on the beach, or you're sitting in your living room, or you're just going to have your first cup of coffee.

Give it a thought. Give it a thought to somebody. Somewhere. Just receive the gift of Knowledge. And their life has changed. Forever. Who is this person? This person may be a person who thought he had no hope in their lives. That was it. Born poor. Surrendered to the fact, going to die poor. Every day. Whatever they could do. You know, yesterday, I was caught in traffic jam. Bad traffic jam. Bad. Bad traffic jam. Sitting back. And at one point, I mean, I wanted to do my commentary bit. Oh, look at that idiot. You know, why can't he do this? I'm quite capable of that. Then just in a moment, it hit me.

My goodness. Somebody's going to receive Knowledge. Pretty soon. In a few hours. They're going to receive Knowledge. And how excited they are that this is going to happen. They've been waiting. And in a few hours, the ambition of a heart is going to come true. The most beautiful gift is going to be granted to this person. And it's like, it's okay. It's alright. Traffic jam. Traffic jam was a traffic jam. Then it cleared up. Then it got back into a traffic jam. Again. Then it cleared up. Traffic jam. All those things happen. Yeah. Will they happen again? Of course they will happen. But there is a motion. And this motion has always existed. How do you know? How do you know? What did Kabir talk about? He didn't talk about questions. See, that's the difference. There are people who talk about the questions. And that's all they talk about. And this is where they stay. And there are people who talk only about the answers. And those people who talk about the answers paradoxically seem like so stupid.

Maharaji 2007

It's like, what is this an answer for? But it's an answer for a question that I don't even know I'm going to have someday. After a little while, you just get intelligent. You know, okay, great. I'll take it. I'll take it. This answers the river of answers is flowing. It's up to you how much you want to bathe in it. It's up to you how much you want to cleanse in it. It's up to you how much you want to enjoy it. Because it's just exciting. Incredibly exciting. So, that's a little bit of what I wanted to talk to you about what's happening with SAM. The possibility is there. And, you know, whatever you can do. If somebody wants to start propagation, they should have almost all the ways that they can do it. I said, all you have is one-to-one. I said, what if I want to do propagation? I don't want to go giving around these DVDs. I don't want to go. I just don't.

I mean, I like Malibu, but you won't really find me in, you know, downtown Malibu saying, "You want to see me?" (laughter) I have flown with my co-pilot, you know, for, God, now almost six, seven, eight years. Never a word of it. Of course, then I had this other guy just for a few hours, and he just turned to me and asked, you know, so tell me, what about this God business in India? What is God in India? Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. Oh, I let him have it. He asked.

So I said, what if it's a person who can't do that? How can he help with propagation? I said, let's have it. Let's make it possible for everyone to be able to participate. And if they can't go somewhere, how can they do it? How can they help with propagation? So new frontiers are being finally looked at. You know, it's been long enough, but new frontiers are being looked at and the possibility is being looked at of how it can happen. I mean, it's not a question of going somewhere. I mean, maybe somebody's too old. Or maybe somebody's got a twisted ankle, and they keep twisting it again and again and again. I mean, whatever the issue may be, how can they do? Can they start propagation? Of course they can start propagation. And how can we help them? How can we help all these communities? I mean, Cambodia. Vietnam. South Korea. Philippines.

The people are like, I mean, they just can't get enough of Cuba. Cuba. So happy. Do you know that the propagation is going better in Cuba? Cuba is almost like number two or number three in the world. Like India, Nepal, and it would be Cuba. Have I ever been there? No. Have I overflown it? Yes. Once. And it got started. One person. Lit the fire. And of course, whenever the opportunity arises, I would love to go. But the possibilities. And the Keys were there. I mean, you know, I didn't think of Cuba when I was making the Keys, but God, had it not been for the Keys, these people would have never received Knowledge. So beautiful. South America. All over the place. People just enjoying, enjoying, enjoying. And in America, you know, a lot of people are like, well, I don't have time. Fine. I understand that. So maybe of the time that you don't have, maybe you can take a little bit of it out, and maybe there is some way you can help. Sometimes, the issue isn't that you have a solution.

Sometimes, all it takes is that the intent is clear. And when the intent is clear, the solution falls in your lap. Too many times I've seen that. I know what it is that we have to do. I don't know how we're going to do it, but I know what it is that we have to do. And then, miraculously, miraculously, this just happened a few days ago. Just a few days ago, sitting in my office, and I'm like, man, how are we going to change these events? I mean, what do we need to do? And everybody was like, and I said, I know what has to happen. These events have to have a very specific purpose. Every single event has to have a very specific purpose. And I tell you what I think is important. One I said that is important is people. Anybody who has received Knowledge, any issues with the techniques, any problems that they're having, I'd like to take care of that. Warranty work, we call them. Anybody. Now, the biggest problem was, one of the things we used to do is Knowledge Reviews, to review the techniques again. Logistically, that is such an impossible thing to do. I said, hey, no problem. We will set up Knowledge reviews in the local communities where people can get them any time they want. You know, a few days before, a few days after. But if they want to talk to me about any issues with the techniques, any problems, any difficulties, they should be able to. So, I said, that's one.

That's one kind of event we need. Two, we need an event where people can come and be introduced to this possibility. Introduction Events. The third, I said, we need totally flexible events. Whatever needs to happen in that local area. There's more aspirants. I mean, the aspirants should be able to talk to me. They got questions? I'm here. They have problems? I'm not here. I mean, you know. I mean, I can't help you if your car doesn't give the right gas mileage. I probably could, but I'm not going to. It's not about gas mileage. But any, I mean, anything you're having problems with, because I know what it is. All you have, either your eyes are closed and all you need to do is open them.

Maharaji 2007

You know. It's like this one lady got up in India. She goes, I don't experience anything. I said, really? She goes, no, nothing. I said, so why are you here? "Oh, I like it. I like it. It brings me a lot of peace when I practice." Actually, what I said to her is, "Why do you practice then? Do you practice?" She goes, "Yeah, I practice." I said, "Why do you practice?" "Oh, it brings me a lot of joy. It brings me a lot of peace." I said, "Oh. What else were you looking for?" So there she is going, and it was something else because that one particular hall where this was asked was full of aspirants. And when she got up and said, "Well, I don't experience anything" everybody looked at me. Looked at her, looked at me like, hmm. How are you going to deal with this one? Handle this? They were interested. They were just interested. I said, "Why do you practice? Stop practicing." "I like it. I like it. It brings me a lot of peace. It brings me a lot of joy." Unfortunately, that's all that was promised. No new husband, no new boyfriend, no new romantic life, no new car, no nothing. That's all that was promised. All the aspirants, they enjoyed that terribly. Cool. So, you know, if any which way you can help, that's great.

And the SAMT is there to facilitate the help. And things will improve. You know, it's still in its infancy age, and things will get better and better.

So, all this is happening, and I just wanted to put you in touch with that. We have a couple of microphones, and we're just going to begin. So if you want to take that opportunity to talk, here's the time. Well, it's not really giving back to me. It is really, when somebody does participation, it is for them. It is for them. It's absolutely for them. I didn't want to sound selfish. Oh, right. People don't even know what selfish is. They think that if you come in this life and enjoy yourself, that's being really selfish. Because there's so many people who are not enjoying themselves.

There's a lot of people who don't take baths. So, stop taking a bath. There are people who just absolutely refuse to wash themselves. So, what? There are people who don't shave, because they don't have a razor blade. So stop shaving. There are people who don't have nail clippers, who don't clip their nails. So stop clipping your nails. There are people who don't have shoes. So why do you wear shoes? See, selfishness is sometimes what is convenient. Oh, yeah, no, no, I have to wear shoes. I've got to take a shower. I've got to shave. No, that's not selfish. How could that be? To accept what God has given me is selfish? How could it? By the very nature of something that I cannot give to someone else. I can't give this to someone else. Even if I was the most charitable person in the entire universe, I cannot give my experience of that beauty to that person. I can't do it. I can't do it. It's locked up for me and me only. And for that person, and that person, and that person only. That's not selfish. That's not selfish. To enjoy this life, to participate, and to enjoy the gift of participation is not selfish. Why? Because you can't give it to someone else. It's yours. And yours alone. I'll be welcome.

And the ride is not over. By any stretch of the imagination, and it's going on. I mean, one of the things before these events began, we were talking about it, and I said, you know, I arrived in England, and I had, like, 25 pounds in my pocket. That was it. Didn't have a car. And there was this lady who made her car available. And so we had to wait for her. Whenever she was free, she could drive for the different events. She had a job. She didn't want any hippies driving her car, so she wouldn't let anybody touch it with a 10-foot pole. It was only a two-door Cortina, a coupe, you know, a little coupe. Nothing fancy. But she had a job, and that was unique in those days. Because most people didn't have a job. And I said to them, I said, you know, now we've got such incredible resources. Incredible. Don't have to wait for a Cortina. And so if we were starting out today, how would we do it? With everything we've got, how would we do it? And so we took a step with these events.

Because one of the things, I mean, one of the things that used to happen in those days was hours and hours. I mean, events only would happen once in a while. Most of the time was every morning was people would come together and sit down in the living room, and we would come out twice a day, at least, in most places. Question and answers, people talking, da-da-da-da-da. You know, it would go on for a few hours, and then it would quit. And then people would, less and less people would come, then we would go do an Event, and then the room would fill up. And that was like, you know, 10, 15, 20. 20 people showed up, everybody was like, man, the hall is full. Because the hall only took 10.

Maharaji 2007

So when there was 20, the hall was full. And so much has changed, and I feel that there's a very beautiful thing starting to happen. A lot of the primies who were wild in those days have mellowed down a little bit. Thanks to age. But the passion hasn't. Passion hasn't subsided. So that's almost like the perfect combination. Now there's a little wisdom, there's a little understanding, and I really feel that the way the propagation is happening, it's on a very, very good footing. I mean, will it continue like this? I don't know. We'll have to see. But everywhere, everywhere around the world, where people are making little effort, whether it's Cambodia, whether it's Vietnam, whether it's Nepal, whether it's India, whether it's Mozambique, whether it is South Africa, whether it is Ivory Coast, and Ghana, and you know, all those places. Just people are getting involved. Because it used to be that the thing would come from the top. Instructors, and this and that. But now, people are starting to get involved.

And they're young people, they're old people, there's a lot of enthusiasm, and there's a, you know, there was the million dollar, there used to be a million dollar question. So people would hear Introductory Event or something and go, okay, I'm interested. So what is next? And most people would go, ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba. Listen, listen, listen some more. And I mean, that, with the Keys, has just disappeared. Somebody goes, okay, I'm interested. I mean, you're almost like somebody going, okay, so you got God's number on you or something, you know? Yeah, here it is. Call this. You want to know more? No problem.

Here are the Keys. See the Keys? You can receive it. It's small. And so there was such an ambiguous thing, and that ambiguity is now gone. It's just gone. It's gone.

And I just feel that propagation is happening, and it's happening on a footing which is not related to something. I mean, 1,000 people have received Knowledge in Cuba, okay? Actually, the amount of people who have Knowledge in Cuba is about this much. Amount of people that are here tonight, or today, same amount of people who have received Knowledge in Cuba. Cuba, one exception, I've never been to Cuba. They have never seen me in person. This is Los Angeles, close to Los Angeles. This is where I came first to in the West. Flight was from London to Los Angeles. I've done so many programs here.

I don't even know how many. So many events, so many, I mean, amazing events have happened. But I really feel that if people want to do something, it's to just help out. Help out any which way you can. Whatever you can do. Whatever you can do. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Whatever you can do. Because at this point, no holds barred. There's SAMT, wonderful thing, and however you can help. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy this life. Enjoy the Knowledge. Enjoy listening. I mean, now listening has become easy.

So much material that is now available and still being generated, still being put together, still being made available so that you can hear in more and more ways. And it's just really, really nice. Enjoy yourself. And a lot of you, I know, have worked really, really hard, and you need to enjoy yourself. Really do. Really, really do. Propagation is on a beautiful bridge. And a tremendous amount of young people around the world are starting to take on and shoulder the responsibility for propagation. It is a tremendous transition that is happening. Just recently, I was in Calcutta, and I had an event there. All people from this university, young, just absolutely had a blast. I mean, blast. Very few had Knowledge. Most of them had been listening and listening to DVDs. Just, oh man, they were just blown away. They were just so happy, so excited, so, I mean, just. And then I met with the people who had helped with the whole event, some of the young people. Oh, that was just precious. Just really shouldering the responsibility. Beautiful way. Beautiful way.

Maharaji 2007

Beautiful way, shouldering the responsibility for propagation. Going door to door. I mean, they put together, it kind of reminded me, because for a long time, there was, in my house, in one of the hallways, there was a poster from Colorado, back when I first came to Colorado.

Somebody had found one, and we had it just stuck in a corner there, kind of say, you know, that way. And beautifully, these people have gone out, really put together this material, so really, really nice. Going from university, university, class to class, college to college, giving people the information, and people like, wow, you know, this is so important, this is so nice. So a lot of similarities, but beautifully, beautifully, they're shouldering the responsibility. And they're very young and very enthusiastic, and so, you know, so far, from where I sit, I see the future of propagation to be very, very bright, very, very bright. And you know, you will always, I will always be thankful to a lot of you who worked so hard in the beginning years, and somehow, everything that is happening today, your blood, sweat, and tears are in it, you know, and blood, sweat, and tears stay. They stay long after you may be gone. People will remember you in their own way. As people enjoy Knowledge around the world, around the world. So many people, so many people in India receiving Knowledge in the villages. All this is new propagation, completely new propagation, new areas where nobody had ever been, you know, nobody had ever been. People are so excited, 5,000 people inviting 50,000 people. So propagation is happening. Service area opportunity is there. What can you do? Do. What can you do? Help out. And that's what this AMT is all about.

And thank you very much for coming, and I hope you enjoyed yourself. So take care, and enjoy.
