An Awesome Strength

I've driven through North Carolina before a long time ago, but it's great to be here this evening. And of course we have a two day event tomorrow as well. But first I'd like to just talk to you about this life, the gift, the important things. Because if life was an unlimited commodity, then for me to be here is almost pointless. If you were going to live forever, I mean, you may think you will live forever, but not as eggplant or tomato or okra or something like that, but as a human being, a human. And so when you consider what is a human being, what makes us so different? And on one level, there isn't a whole bunch of difference between us and other animals that are out there. Blood, guts. Driving here today, you know, you could see it, blood, guts. That's how it was.

Maharaji 2007

But what makes us different? A little bit different. Slightly different. Maybe the difference is no bigger than the difference between cat and a dog, but we are different. And what is that difference? Well, there are animals out there that can outrun us, so it's not running. And there's animals out there that can outjump us, so it's not jumping. And it's not the smile, because monkeys, they yawn, smile quite frequently to show their chomps and let everybody else know they're the boss. So it's not smiling. It's not laughing, because there's, you know, laughing hyena. Everything it says, it kind of just laughs.

What is it that makes us different? What is the difference? And this is not based on any science, but my inclination is that our power to appreciate, to enjoy, is what makes us who we are. Dogs enjoy what they enjoy. And boy, do they enjoy what they enjoy. There's no questions about it. And they'll let the whole world know. They'll wag their tail, and it's like, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff. Their eyes will just light up. They'll even get a smile. They enjoy what they enjoy. And cats, it's the same way. They enjoy what they enjoy. And birds, they enjoy what they enjoy. But there is something that we can enjoy, because of who we are. So that's what makes, in my opinion, us a little bit different. So hold that thought.

Driving here today, I drove for a few hours, made very good time, and then took a break and let somebody else drive. So I'm sitting in the back. There was a few emails I had to answer. There was a video that I had to watch, make sure it looked good to me. So I did that. And then I just started looking at the trees. And I noticed that even though the ground was undulating, the trees were straight. Just a little observation. And it's like, well, wait a minute. Shouldn't they be perpendicular, you know, coming out? No. Because their roots are on this earth, but their relationship is with something that's in the sky. They want that sun. They need to have their leaves exposed to the sun. And more leaves that can be exposed to the sun, the better. That's their relationship. Now, there are trees that some limbs have fallen, and subsequently, because of gravity, they're leaning over. But believe me, their chances of survival has decayed significantly. One good storm, and they'll be down. So that tree, and this is not supposed to be a nature thing, you know. That's not why you have come here. But I'm just setting up a preface.

Maharaji 2007

I'm setting up a field. I need to do that. Setting a stage for understanding, your understanding, to dance on. Because without that stage, like, what? What did he say? What does it mean? And it is left to interpretation. And I want to leave it to interpretation. Otherwise, what is the point of listening to a person live? Then it would be much easier to just print up whatever it is that I wanted to say on a piece of pamphlet, and just hand it to you, and say, here, read this. But I'm setting the stage. That that tree has taken many things into account. Many, many things into account. Storms, absolutely. Wind, absolutely. And that relationship that it has with the sun, absolutely. There are plants in Antarctica that grow very close to the surface, because they know about the wind. They know that if they try to pop out, they'll be gone. So they grow very, very close to the surface, but the relationship with the sun is still intact.

So you see this myriad of designs. Tremendous amount of design. Tremendous amount of different foliage. Tremendous leaf design, intricate leaf designs. Branches, root systems, trees, barks, all of that. And the relationship that it has with something that is so far away from it. The tree doesn't know how far the sun is. It is really, really far away. But everything in its design, in its existence, as we call it, is in balance. Not out of balance. Not so radical, not so strange, that it has given one over the other. Nothing can be compromised here. Because if it is, its existence would not happen. This then begs the question, if we were to take a look at our own existence, how balanced is it? It's a very interesting question, because we, most of us, have said, look, I've got to survive in this world, and whatever it takes to survive in the world, this is all I need, period. That's it. Whatever it takes.

Second question, who do we have that ultimate relationship with? What is, in our lives, every single day, the source, the single source of our inspiration? I say to you, that the single source of inspiration cannot be a hero, not something that you learn later in life, not an ideology, but it has to be fundamental. And I know, that for a lot of people, when I ask that question, what is the source of your inspiration? Uh, G, uh, Kabir? Cannot be Kabir. Oscar Wilde? Cannot be Oscar Wilde. Rembrandt? No. You see, what Kabir talks about, if Kabir becomes your source of inspiration, you miss what he said. And what he said is, the one that you are looking for is inside of you.

There's a beautiful couplet from Kabir, that

my Lord resides in the heart of every single human being. But, glory be to that temple, glory be to that heart, in whom that Lord has manifested.

Maharaji 2007

The fact that, that power is within everyone, period. But the speciality is, if this is recognized, if this is realized. If it manifests. And that is what I am here to talk about. This is why I'm here. I'm not here to fix your problems. Why am I not here to fix your problems? Shouldn't I be your problem fixer? No, I'm sorry, I cannot be your problem fixer, because you're the one who creates the problems. So you create the problems, and I keep cleaning them up, it's not a happening thing. I'm not going to run behind you with a vacuum cleaner, while you unconsciously throw wrappers of everything. And go, okay, he'll come and clean it up. No, no, no, no, no. I want to be that. There isn't a vacuum cleaner big enough. First of all. I'm not here to fix your problems. But what I want you to realize. Is there something inside of you that is greater than the sum of all your goods? And the sum of all your bads. Regardless how you see yourself. Regardless of how you portray your existence. Regardless of what you have read. Regardless of what you think. There is something that resides inside of you. And in your life, that should be the single point of inspiration for your existence. Nothing else. Nothing else. I'm sorry. I have to say it as I feel it. Because people would relate to me a little better if I said, you know, have you read that book, and have you read that book, and have you read that book.

Understand one thing. The concept of heaven and hell came much later than human beings. Human beings were already dancing on the face of this earth. Very nicely. Before somebody said, do that, otherwise you'll go to hell. And I know which one came first. Heaven or hell. And I am willing to bet that it almost was hell first. Because we do not seek. We do not recognize each other's good things. Bad things, instantly. Instantly.

So, the idea. And then some people got into it. They started painting it.And once you get into painting it, you got the brush, you got the paint, you got to use the paint. I mean, there is no such thing as painting a picture with just clear paint. I guess you could, but then people will have a hard time relating to it, because it'll just look like a shiny canvas. So, what color do you use? Do you use blue? Do you use green? And somebody describes it that it's so cold down there. And so the devil all of a sudden becomes blue. The Satan becomes blue. And then there's fires everywhere. Fires. Things we like. Things that'll burn. And then incredible detail for hell. Very little description of heaven. Just a gate, a few clouds, a little light. That's it. I mean, okay, so show us the rooms, you know. Show us the bathroom. Show us the rooms. And show us.

And in hell, you got this incredible, the knives, the teeth, the color of the teeth, the body parts falling off from the Satan's mouth, the fire, everything. Heaven, just light, clouds, and a gate. And I say this many times. Well, who's the gate for? Is it to stop people from leaving? Or is it to stop people from entering? So I mean, entering means that people come up there. They actually get to see it. They actually get to be really close to it. Before the judgment is passed, you're going to hell. Well, hell begins right from there then. For those people who are going to hell, it's almost in heaven. Oh, God. Fry, fry, fry. Every single day. And I know that most preachers get up there and they use hell to scare you. Now the sad part of it is, you're so scared. You get so scared of hell. That you dare not even entertain the idea that it does not exist. Because that could send you there for sure. It's looped.

Reasoning or understanding? Which way? Reasoning requires proof. Understanding is understanding. What you know to be true. Then do you know it to be true? The value of each breath that comes in and out of you? Then do you understand what it means to have that relationship with clarity? In your life? That you dwell here with all the good and bad, all the storms that will come. But you are linked like that sunflower. In the day, the sunflower follows the sun. At night, it's not spent in vain. At night, the sunflower prepares for. The sun, it moves. It moves, it's facing the way the sun is going. Could this be construed as clarity? Even though it is a biological function. The sunflower before that did it. Ah, but somewhere there was a little flower that said, if I can link to the sun, if I can link to the sun, I will survive better. And those that did, began to thrive. And those that didn't, died out. Those who have understood that relationship with the real. Who understand in their lives what clarity means. What serenity is. That truth is not an abstract thing. Lying folded between printed letters on some book. But truth actually exists in the heart of every single human being. To know. To know. Not to believe. To know. To be certain. To be certain.

When I stopped for a break, before I stopped, I wanted to make a decision. Do I need to take on more gas or not? So I looked at the navigation computer and told me, this is how far I have to go. And the car told me, this is how much range you have. And I said, "I need gas. It's okay." The other car that was with me, I said, "Do you need gas?" They said, "No, no, no, we're okay." I said, "Are you sure? We still got this much to go. How much gas have you taken? We're almost halfway." And I think they finally looked at their gas meter and said, I think we better take some gas. To be certain. Not in some left field of, but I believe. Believing is fine. But you got to know. You have to be certain. That the heaven is here for you. That regardless of the undulating terrain. Even though the tree has to survive in this undulating terrain. It knows who it has to tie with. And thus grow straight. Is your life like that? Or sometimes does it feel like. The jungle that's just kind of like all over the place.

Which one? Do you live for tomorrow? To do all the things you didn't get done today? Is tomorrow a reflection. Of all the things that you have to do. Tomorrow is not a good analogy. Tomorrow is Sunday. Or is it? A good analogy. Tomorrow you have to take off. From doing all the things you do all week. So you can rest. So then you can go to work again on Monday. And Tuesday. Weekend. That's a sham. Because that's not a weekend. It's a trip. Two days. Two days to be different. So that you can go back to being the same. For the next five days. These are the things we believe in.

You know. In India.Sunday. So many people. They'll go to temples. When I was in India I said you know. Here we got a problem. Because Sunday. That's days. God's day off. He rests. And then you. On his day off. Go to him and say. You know. I want this. This. This. Help me with this. Help me with this. And then it doesn't happen. And you blame him. And you blame yourself. And you blame everybody else. But it's like. That's like going shopping on Sunday. Shops may be closed. You're not going to find anything. Closed for the weekend.

But here we are. In a pattern. What will winter be like? What will summer be like? What will fall be like? And no consideration for each breath. That comes. Into you. Each breath. Each breath that comes into you. Do you know the meaning of each breath that comes into you? Do you understand the significance of each breath that comes into you? Of course not. Because the pattern doesn't allow for that. Pattern recognizes Sunday. Pattern recognizes June. Pattern recognizes July. Pattern recognizes 2007. Pattern recognizes 2008. But pattern doesn't recognize each breath that comes to you. Your life. No, no, it's not like, oh, but it comes to all the people in this hall. Yeah. But to you. It comes to you. To you.

Not too long ago. Just a few days ago. I was standing in my kitchen and all of a sudden I felt I should call this one person. So I did. I called this person out here. They said, you know, their father is on their way out in the hospital. And I said, "You know, tell him it's okay. He'll be okay." So the father knew me. He had been to one of my events. So this person went and told their father in the hospital. "Oh, you know, I just talked to him and he said it'll be okay." And then this person smiled and relaxed and was gone. Somehow, whatever it was. Whatever it was. That's what happens. Of everything you could do. Everything you thought you were in charge of, you are no longer in charge. And what do the doctors do? Of course they look at the scopes. But they do one final check. It's really hilarious.

It's really something. Because when you came into this world, that's what they were looking for. Were you breathing or not? Maybe quite a few months before that they were talking about boy, girl, boy, girl. You know, doctor, pilot, lawyer, prime minister, president. No. There comes that moment when you came into this world. All of a sudden the presidency got dropped. The lawyerism got dropped. Doctor you were no more. Boy, it didn't matter. Girl, it didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was, are you breathing? And if you were breathing. Ah! A girl! A boy! All right. Oh, so cute. But in that moment, everybody holds their breath. Almost. Till that child is breathing. And in the last one. Even though there's all the scopes and everything else. Last check. Breathing. I would like for you to pay attention to this. I would like for you to pay attention to that thing that is within inside of you. I want you to forge a relationship with that thing that is inside of you. Not to fix your problems. But for you to thrive.

You're a little plant. Stuck. Around big ones. That are hogging all the shadows. The sun shines. And it's just enough sun comes to the ground. For you to go on. But not enough. For you to be the tree that you should be. You think that's a worthwhile reason? Obviously some of you do, some of you. Because the thinking has become so different. The thinking says, this is enough. So what? I'm not a big tree. I'm not thriving. But you know, it's happening. You think that is any way to live? Is it? That's the way to live. That's the way to be. Where you need to be, that mighty tree, that is your true nature. Not the survival junk. Your nature is to be thriving. Your nature is to be blooming. Your nature is to be unfurled. Taking in that light. Taking in that sun. Taking in that beauty. Every single day. Be. Enjoy. Doing. What you do best. Remember I asked you to hold that thought? Well, that's how long it took me to set up this stage. This is what makes you special and if you're not doing it, pointless. Thousands of people will come. And thousands of people will try to justify what it all means. What is the meaning of life? Peculiar question!

Don't ever have to tell a dog, oh by the way, you're a dog. You know, we have a beautiful, beautiful Pomeranian. And when we got her, I was walking around my house and my wife was driving in her car. She came in and I just went over to say, you know, where were you? What was she doing? And she just pointed. And the little baby was, I know, just no bigger than this, sitting in her lap. And I know, something happened. And that was it, we connected. And she was so tiny, we put her on the grass and she couldn't walk. Because the grass was holding her legs up. I mean, it was amazing. And so she has not been taught anything. She's very happy. And she does her thing. Whatever her thing is, she does her thing. That's her nature. And she is happiest when she is doing her thing in her nature. She has all her little routines that she has created. When she has to greet somebody, she has to have a chew stick in her mouth. So if somebody comes and she knows she has to greet them, she like almost panics and goes, where's my choo-choo, where's my choo-choo? And then she goes and gets her choo-choo so that she can go up to them. Very friendly. Very friendly. Just her little routines that she has to do. Now, at night, sometimes, well, she sleeps with us. Same bed. When I'm not there, she comes and lies on my pillow. When I'm there, she goes to the foot of the bed. Finds a nice place. When she is thirsty, she comes up to me. And it's like, here, wake up. Wake up. And I go, what? You thirsty? You know, so I go get her water. She drinks it. She's satisfied. She goes to sleep. Can she communicate? Of course. When she wants a new chew stick, she'll just go in front of the drawer where it is kept. She knows exactly where it is kept. And she'll go. She can communicate. A lot of people go, oh yeah, yeah, our thing is that we can communicate. She can communicate just fine. Anything she wants. If she knows not to leave her nature, she's only this big. She looks much bigger, but when she gets wet, she just goes, almost disappears. She knows her nature.

Maharaji 2007

Do you know your nature, truest nature? Your true nature is not violence. Your truest nature is very different than you realize. I always say one thing, that when a person is feeling good inside, they automatically show the traits that the society wants everyone to show all the time. They'll be courteous. They will. Parking lot? You feeling good? Somebody else wants it? Go ahead. It's okay. Somebody in the traffic wants to cut in front of you? No problem. One of the things I've noticed driving in the South is people love to come right behind you as close as they can. So they do. Now I also see that this really upsets a lot of people. Me, I just move out of the way. Go ahead. Maybe you've got to get there sooner. Won't make any difference to me. It'll be within seconds. So I move out. Go ahead.

Feeling good, feeling good from the truest place inside, being in contentment. Not satisfied. Not dissatisfied Look up the two words in the dictionary. I did today. To be content. One of the meanings of the word content is to be in peace. To be in serenity. To be in tranquility. Not satisfied. Satisfied is job done. Contentment from inside. Not ideas. Not survival. Living in this jungle hoping that someday these trees will fall, the sun will come and you will be able to become strong. No. You need to be in full bloom. You need to be in your strength. You need to be in your element. You're not in your element.

One day, a farmer was walking back from the forest. He came across a little lion cub. So he brought the lion cub back home. Gave it milk, water, some food. Didn't know what to do with it. So he put him with all the sheep that he had. Well every day this kept happening where he would give him the food and he would play with them a little bit and then when the time came he would put him with the sheep. Time came, the cub grew a little bit bigger, started going out in the fields, playing with the sheep, playing with the lamb. One day, a real big lion came out of the jungle and roared. And when the sheep heard the roar, they all scrambled, hiding wherever they could, because they were afraid. The lion that had grown up with the sheep also did the same. The big lion stepped out of the forest, seeing this lion trying to hide, came over to him and said, why are you hiding? He said, well you will eat me. I'm going to eat you? Do you know who you are? Do you know that you are not a sheep, you are a lion? He said, whatever, whatever. Whatever you say is fine with me, but just please eat me. Having seen that this lion was not going to be convinced, the big lion took the little lion and said, come with me. Took him to a lake and said, here, look at yourself, look at this reflection and see what you see. And when the little lion looked at his reflection, he said, I am like you, not like them. And the lion said, that is right. You are. And so the little lion said, oh thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much. And the lion said, why are you thanking me? I didn't do anything. All I did was show you who you already were. I didn't create something new here. I didn't take a sheep and turn it into a lion. I took a lion and showed the lion that you are a lion, not a sheep. So, that's what I do. I go place to place and I say to people, look, and know who you are. That you are not that sheep that you think you are. That you are a lion. Roar. Be. Be in the element. Because then, then, when you are who you are, when you are in your element, when you are not surviving but thriving, then comes the biggest bonus of them all. And what is the bonus? What is the bonus? Happiness. What is the bonus? Joy. What is the bonus? Tranquility. What is the bonus? Clarity.

Don't you think it's kind of funny all these things kind of hang out in one group? Whilst doubt and anger and misery and confusion, they kind of all hang together. It's like buddies. And they love to prey on you. They do. Doubt comes. All of a sudden you know. What does it bring? Ushers in confusion. All yours. Then the next dance is with confusion. After confusion has finished the dance, here comes anger. Next dance. Anger comes. You may have a dance with me. And the music, this hideous music is playing all the while. And what is suffering? The body suffers. You know, the body suffers. The body is saying, do this. Not feeling good. But it's like, no, no, no, no. If you could be the other way. In the grand ballroom of life, you should not be dancing with confusion. Please. You should not be dancing with doubt. You should be dancing with clarity. You should be dancing with serenity. You should be dancing with tranquility. These are the ones that one after another should be lined up in your life. So one's dance is over. Next and next and next and next. And then life becomes real. It becomes real. Not some fantasy of tomorrow. Not some projection of tomorrow.

And you begin to live. You begin to thrive. And believe me, that smile on your face is so different than the conditional smile you smile every day. Conditional. Conditional. I was in my car and I was listening to this music and I was smiling and this person standing on the roadside looked at me and because I was smiling, he started smiling. And I said, you know why I am smiling. I know why you're smiling. You're smiling because you look at me. I'm smiling. So you're smiling. Conditional smile. But mine is not a conditional. I'm smiling because I'm remembering through this music, through this song, how important is the coming and going of each breath.

How important is today? How important is to be conscious every single day? Every single day. Can this be? It has to be. Is it possible? Yes, it is. Yes, it is. And I say this with all the conviction because I have seen it. I have seen it again and again and again, the heart touched. That the dance with clarity, that the dance with serenity, the dance with peace is exquisite and the music that accompanies it is even more exquisite. And the feeling, not of tired. The feeling, not of losing. The feeling, not of loss. But to gain, to gain every single day, to place in the cup inside the most valuable, not the reasons, but understanding. Not explanations. How many explanations do you carry in your bag? There are not even your explanations. Somebody gave them to you and you collected them. Talk about garbage.

Explanations that you will never need. But you carry them. Why is it this way? I mean, you know, me, I used to ask because where I was going to school in the monsoon season, the clouds would come and lightning and thunder. So I asked my uncle, I said, so what causes this noise? And what did he say? It's two clouds colliding with each other. And you know what? For the longest time in my life, every time I heard thunder, I would go, hmm, two clouds colliding. Boy, they were big clouds. Made a real big thunder. How did he get it? Somebody gave it to him. Wrong explanation continued from generation to generation to generation to generation. Then when I started studying to be a pilot, I realized it had nothing to do with two storms colliding or two clouds colliding. Then I always thought the lightning came from top bottom. No, it goes from bottom to the top. Just looks like. A lot of people know this. It actually starts from the bottom and goes up.

So. There's more lightning inside a cloud that happens within the cloud, inside. It doesn't even touch the ground. And sometimes in a dark, dark night, when you look at the storms, they're just lighting up just the clouds and you even see the bottom part coming out. When they were doing a test for lightning strikes on a T-33, they would fly at the bottom of the thunderstorm and they would hardly get a lightning. Then they tried to fly through the cloud and they would hardly get a lightning. Then they started flying on top of the thunderstorm and they got all the lightning they wanted. Understanding, not explanations. Who is God? Do you carry with you an understanding or an explanation? You should be carrying understanding, not an explanation.

To know for yourself. This is all about understanding. Not about somebody coming to you and saying all these things like I have said. Here's the difference. These are not just words. I stand behind these words. Me. Not just here to give you this sermon. Sermon in Asheville. I'm not a preacher. I have nothing to preach. I'm not here to tell you, you know, if you do this, you'll go to hell. I mean, every religion has hell. And every religion has heaven. Now is your time. This is when you are the king. Rule your kingdom. Be a just king. And rule well. Rule well. One day you will not be the ruler. I'm not trying to threaten you. This just happens to be a fact. Life is a limited commodity.

Hence every day needs to be spent wisely. And wisdom you have. You innately do know what is good. Innately. You innately do want peace in your life. Innately. Given those circumstances, given those choices, I know you would pick clarity over confusion. You will. Because there is a heart in you. There's a mind and there's a heart. And the heart in you will choose clarity over confusion. Cool. The heart will choose peace over turmoil. These are irreversible processes of your existence. This is how your heart is. This is how your heart has been. This is what your heart has selected again and again and again and again. And hence heart has been the place where the joy resides. Heart has been the place where God resides. Not a concept. Not a concept. But reality. And to know. To be fulfilled. The rest is up to everyone.

Maharaji 2007

Choices are ours. We have to make the choices. Every single day we have to make the choices.

What is the difference between being in a prison and being outside the prison? There's wardens and there's all these people. They're in prison too. Every day they come to prison. But they have a choice. And the ones that are the inmates do not have the choice. That's it. I went to prison. Of course, to see these people who were listening to my message. They wanted to see me, so I went to prison. But I could walk out. When it was all done, everybody thanked me and I said, Okay, see you later. I was gone. But they had to be there. Hope. Explain to me about hope then.

What is the hope for these people? Who are in the prison? I mean, what are their prospects? Where do they apply for a job? Just imagine. Here's this guy, right? So he has come out of the prison and he wants to get a job. And he's a great cook. And he wants to get a job at this nice family's home. And then he explains to them that yes, he was in prison for the last 40 years. Oh great, that's the guy we've been looking for, right? No, you're not going to get that kind of reaction. I mean, especially if you've been in prison in India, your prospects are pretty narrow. Not that bad, but pretty narrow. Because you can always be a politician. It's true. Most politicians in India have been at some point in prison or have good prospects to end up there. But what hope does this person have? And this person that I'm talking about, he had a big smile on his face. What hope does he have? His choices have been taken away. He's not in the most glorious prison in the world, believe me. But does he have hope? Yes. Every single day, he has hope. True hope is beyond circumstances. Whatever your circumstances may be and how bleak and how weak you may be, there is a strength inside of you that is awesome.

There is a strength inside of you that would put Superman to shame. You know it. So you look for Superman. There is a strength inside of you that can make you out-climb Spider-Man. But you know it. So you look for Spider-Man. Know it. Know it. Know that strength. I have seen that strength. And I am in awe of that strength. And I have seen that strength spark in people who I would have thought have hardly got a spine. Meek and weak. But when that strength was called upon, it was there. Do you know that strength? To out-climb? Spider-Man? Out-fly Superman? It was there. Know your nature. Know your strength. Know who you are. And be that. Then all is in harmony. All is in balance.

But when you, then no matter how much reasoning you go through, it will never be in balance. Reasoning cannot be a substitute for enlightenment. And enlightenment is not about knowing what's going to happen tomorrow. In a way it is. Come to think of it, in a way it is. That tomorrow will become today. And I only have… You know, all your life, it doesn't matter how old you are, you've only lived in today. Never in yesterday and never in tomorrow. You've only always lived in today. Are you used to today? No. Because you sit today and think about tomorrow. You sit today and you think about yesterday. I was giving one of the events and I said, You know when we get happy once in a while? It is such a special occasion. We photograph it. We record it. And then we said, We've got to do this again. That's how desperate we are for those far few in-between little moments like, Ah, this is it. That's how life should be every single day. Ah, this is it. I lived my life today. Not for tomorrow. I lived my life today. And thank you. Thank you for this life.

No. We do that. What do we do? We complain. We say, everything that was wrong today. Why me, God? Where's my lottery? 27 million. Man, if I had that kind of money, what would I do? I'd do this, I'd do that. Dreams. Dreams. But now, the lottery has come. The lottery has come. When this breath came, the lottery came. When the breath came, the lottery came. You won. Again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again. And why will tomorrow be given to you? If it is, it's to get it right. And if there's another day given, that's your opportunity to get it better. That's how it should be. It is not. How it should be. No, then, this feeling inside. Not to fix your problems. No, no, 28 million, 27 million. That's not going to come. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. It's regardless. The one guy did win a lottery, ended up committing suicide. See? It's not about those things.

If you understand who you are, what do you act like? You even know who you are, what your truest nature is. What do you act like? Who do you become? What are you? You want to be good, but you understand what good is. You're good. That resides within inside of you. So, I've said a lot. And, you know, you'll have plenty of time all night long to think about it. And, for some of you, maybe for a second you have tasted clarity. I know. Maybe you felt good, like, well, that's pretty neat stuff. And for a lot of you, as you start thinking about it, doubt will strike. How is that possible? That's all it'll say. That's all it has to say. To throw you into a tizzy. You work well with just a simple command. And that's all it'll do. It will not… It's like, what do you mean? How is it possible? Maybe it is. Doubt the doubt. But you have any training for doubting the doubt. You have only training for being hit with the doubt broadside. The doubt will come. How is that possible? And you'll go, yeah, see? How is it possible? To be conscious of every breath. My God, I'll have accidents left and right. Because already the preconceived idea is there of what it means to be conscious of every breath. And yet you know that if it is your nature to be conscious, it will be just as natural as it needs to be. No effort will have to be made above and beyond what is already happening.
