Divine Light Mission to Move to Miami
DENVER (UPI) – Guru Maharaj will move the national headquarters of his Divine Light Mission to Miami in the next two months.
A mission spokesman said the guru, who established the headquarters eight years ago in Colorado when he was 13, also will sell his Denver home. The value of the house is estimated at $250,000.
The national headquarters will be moved as part of the mission's decentralization program, said spokesman Joe Anctil. The offices will be relocated in Florida because of an increasing, number of mission festivals there and the state's accessibility to overseas flights, he said.
Maharaj Ji lives with his wife and three children on an estate outside Malibu Beach, Calif., and seldom uses his Denver home, Anctil said. The mission, which claims 50,000 members in the United States and several foreign countries, will keep its legal offices in Denver, he said.
