Guru wants to land

The Maharaj Ji - 23-year-old guru of the Divine Light Mission - is running into a few ups and downs in getting a California country's permission to build a helicopter pad at his oceanside Malibu estate. The guru's neighbors feel helicopters would create offensive noise, safety hazards and also lower surrounding property values. But an attorney for the mission says the pad will be used by the religious leader for only about six private landings per month. County supervisors want more information.
