Prem Rawat Unrehearsed Poetry: The Possibility
We have so much in common.
We share so much.
We are all alive.
What comes into each person is a gift.
We all want to be content,
to fulfill the quest of the heart.
Ultimately, this is what we want.
The world wants to teach us
about our differences.
I want to teach the similarities:
that we can all open these eyes,
find fulfillment,
and be fulfilled.
By nature we are gardeners
who can sow the seed of each breath.
By nature we are collectors.
We do not collect rocks; we collect joy.
Whether we have Knowledge or not,
each breath is giving us a present.
The only thing missing
is the bucket where we can put it.
But it's there.
We need to find a place
where we can put it
so we can keep it and enjoy it.
We have made a promise to ourselves.
Maybe we have forgotten that promise.
But we made it.
And the promise is to be fulfilled.
Whatever journey we have been on and
whatever journey we continue to be on,
there is the possibility
of fulfilling that promise.
In our life we need not
just thirst and water;
we also need quenching.
We need that.
And that possibility is
what is being presented
with every breath that comes into us
every day that we are alive.
Whoever we are and
whatever we are and could be,
there is no limit.
Awakening begins the day we say,
"I need someone
who will light the lamp.
I want peace in my life,
not fantasy or imagination.
I have been without the feeling
of being content for too long.
Now I want contentment in my life,
whatever it takes to make that happen.
I must have peace in my life."
That is the day we awaken.
Within is a most simple reality.
It gives the food
that can take away hunger;
it gives the water
that can truly quench thirst.
And who will he the judge of that?
You will have to be the judge.
Only you will know how
many glasses it will take.
With all your wisdom,
you will drink.
You will drink till you thirst no more.
And the thirst will come again.
The difference will be
that you will have water.
That is what Knowledge is.
