Prem Rawat: Courage

Prem Rawat: Courage

Good, bad, right, wrong, all of these things, they're all cyclic. Courage is what it takes. What's happening in Middle East? Terrible, but what does it take to survive that? Courage.

Safe place and courage. Courage. No dark thoughts, just courage.

It is so easy to get discouraged, so difficult it seems to have courage, but without that courage there is no going forward, and without going forward there is no enjoyment, there is no fulfillment of life. The conflicts are human created, they're created by human beings. We create the conflicts, not gods, we create the conflicts, and out of the conflicts there are people on the face of this earth that benefit, and that's a shame of our system, but as an individual, as a human being, as you, me, who really has nothing to do with it, what can we do? And what we can do is as simple as this.

When the sun shines too bright and it's hot, what can you do? I'll tell you what you can do. You can find some shade till the sun cools down. That's wisdom.

When the throat gets parched because of the heat, what can you do? Find some water, drink some water, and quench your thirst. That's what you can do. You know what that is? That's wisdom. That's what wisdom is. It's not some fancy writing on a chapter, on a book, that's wisdom. We're human beings, we're here, maybe we have a lot of obstacles in our path, but be grateful for a path, and learn to go around the obstacles. This war, it's an obstacle. Yeah, learn to go around it. Not through it, learn to go around it. You have to lay low for a little while, lay low. Be safe, have courage, and still through the violence of that sound of the bombs going off, be grateful to the divine for having given you life. That's what you can do.

That person who, at the darkest hour, knows that somewhere there is light, and be thankful for that light, he is thankful for that light. I can tell you he will see light, but that person who says, "Oh, there is no light anymore," even in light he will see darkness, because his eyes are closed. He sees no more. This too will pass, as it has passed, you know, what's going on in the Middle East. It too will pass. It has happened before. It is happening again. Maybe it didn't happen to the people there now. It's a tragedy.

And when it is over, we are thankful for it's over. We don't do anything about it that it'll never happen again, and that's the effort. As nature goes, yes, darkness will come again, but this time have the flashlight of Knowledge. This is all about how to live your life so that you can be happy, so that you can be content, so that you can be. To be miserable, anybody can be miserable. It's easy, but even in the most miserable position to be happy, that requires some strategy, no?
