2   Loveletter from Mike Donner

Six days with nothing to read, no music, no service to do, no satsang to give or listen to, no exercise, I saw another person maybe 4 times a day hurrying by to drop off or pick up my meal tray. WOW! I never realized so clearly what a grace it is that Knowledge is more than formal meditation. Try as I might, I just couldn't meditate 24 hours a day. And with nothing else to do, those hours when meditation seemed impossible were very, very difficult.

4   Universal Language

This of course does not come from words but from meditation, from our personal example of Knowledge. Once we learn to talk in anyone's terms, we can come to a point of shared experience where the manifestation of love and sincerity is too obvious to deny. Most languages are spoken with a mind and a tongue, but love can only be spoken with an open heart.

5   On the road to find out

The following is an Australianised version of an amusing story used as an example in the international propagation handbook. The two heroes may participate in activities unknown to our community, but their path to enlightenment is a glimpse at future propagation plans for Australia.

Satsang given by Guru Maharaj Ji at South High School in Denver, May 4, 1974.
They think, means, the concepts sometime that people have are so super fantastically crazy, that it's very very hard sometimes I convince them that there is something like this Knowledge. Plus, the greater problem comes to the point; because it is so great, because it is so infinite, you cannot put it into finite words and try to explain somebody most perfectly, the best way. You just cannot do it. Because you can be sitting with him all day long, all night long, all your lifelong as a matter of fact, and never will be able to finish that explanation.

8   Melbourne

Sunday morning meditation here has turned into a real Holy Day with sometimes as many as 100 premies coming together for meditation and arti. And on the food level, things are both stable and flourishing. Soul Food is exceptionally busy and exceedingly fruitful in its ability to support propagation. Four premies work there full-time, all from the Charles Street DUO house. Soul Food is completely independent of premie support on a buying level; whereas for the first six months it provided a premie service, it now has far more non-DLM shoppers. The food co-op provides a cheap, speedy service to 38 different households.

9   One Foundation

One Foundation was a premie band formed by Ross Hannaford around the middle of June to play at a dance he was running on July 4. The band consisted of Ross Hannaford guitar (Daddy Cool), Joe Creighton ex Band of Angels, Noel Davies now guitarist with Hot City hump Band, Martin Kellock, Margo Barrett and Madeleine McCrae making up a vocal backing section and Geoff Bridgford on drums.

Before you can say mellow, the first week of satsang caters for our "special guest speaker", Mahatma Padarthanand Ji, whose inspiring words are the highlight of the local Guru Puja celebrations, which feature an abundance of food, films and music. Mahatma Ji's satsang emphasises the importance of making Guru Puja (Guru worship) a day-to-day event, of seeing every day as a special occasion because we are alive and fortunate enough to know the source of our lives. "Work is worship", he declares again, and points out the opportunity before us to serve Guru Maharaj Ji by working on the new building and making it a suitable home for the premie family.

10   Welcome To 63

The new building, known affectionately as "63" accomodates beautifully the premie population growth and provides Sydney with it's own community centre.

11   Share The Love

As you know, Guru Maharaj Ji is coming to Australia in October. We have been given the dates 17th, 18th and 19th, and by a minor miracle we were able to book the Sydney Opera House for the evening program on October 19, so we are hoping Guru Maharaj Ji will be able to extend his visit by one day. Without going into too much detail at this early stage, it appears that the total bill (excluding our own charter fares, food and accommodation) for Maharaj Ji's visit will be about $15,000.

11   Mahatma Training

The training course for western Mahatmas only applies to U.S. premies at the moment, until it is fully established. The only premie outside of the United States who has been accepted by Guru Maharaj Ji for Mahatma training is Julie Collet, who is now an O.T. (On Training)
