Prem's Priceless (Self-)Knowledge

When the 14 years old Prem Rawat burst onto the West in 1971 in his guise of Guru Maharaj Ji, the Perfect Master and Lord of the Universe he was at the head of a Childrens' Crusade determined to bring peace to themselves and to the World and have fun doing it. Divine Light Mission was a group relying on dedication, donation, inspiration and inheritances. The ideal was living in celibacy, simplicity, poverty, meditation and worship of the Master.

There was one paradoxical island in this ocean of asceticism, the young Prem Rawat Himself. He was the Incarnation of God in Human Form and must live in the most excessive and materialist luxury that the All for One could provide for Him. He provided the priceless Knowledge for free and must be rewarded in worldly kind.

Knowledge is a gift. It cannot be bought or sold. People ask why Knowledge is free. It is free because it is priceless. No price could ever be put on it. Those who have understood even a small part of it realize that this is true.

Over 50 years of teaching Mr Rawat has continued to say that his Knowledge cannot be bought or sold and claims he has refused many schemes to make him a a lot of money by selling "Knowledge." This is ridiculous as he's been giving it away free, financially free at least, and that still hasn't been a great success once his window of opportunity closed all the way back in 1974. During this time he has been supported in luxury, millionaires' luxury not billionaires' luxury, and he has been attracting worshipping audiences in many countries, cult band audiences not rock star stadium audiences. It was billed as a taste first, pay later experience. Receive the Knowledge and assess its value and if you wish, give voluntary service and financial support thereafter.

This format lasted for 50 years but unsurprisingly in 2023 Rawat began to move away from the volunteer movement supporting a small group of paid devotee/employees to directly monetising his activities removing him even further from the tradition in which he had always claimed to be based. While using the name of Kabir more often as a validation he went against one of Kabir's main teachings: Kabir was against the accumulation of wealth/
