Note: One of the truly embarassing things about being a premie - a member of Divine Light Mission and follower of Prem Rawat's teachings - back in the 1970s was that many premies really took the more absurd parts of the Divine Light Mission story literally and would say things like 'Mom' referring to the wife of Prem Rawat and 'Dad' referring to Prem Rawat and expect you - I mean me, a more discerning or less committed member - to respond in kind. Leaving the Lotus Feet of Maharaji (this was a phrase used to describe apostasising or just walking out and never returning) was in many ways a liberating experience. You were freed of so much cant and hypocrisy and in-group attitudes.

An Early Satsang of Durga Ji - Marolyn Rawat nee Johnson

"This marriage that has taken place is for all of us. Because in this marriage Maharaj Ji has truly joined all of us together. We are one heart loving our Lord.

"And also in this marriage He's made me your new mother. And even though I'm a new mother. I really don't know how to be your mother. But it's the children that make a mother a mother. And so you must help me be your mother. And I know by Guru Maharaj JI's Grace that we're really going to be the most beautiful family. And soon this whole world will be one family, the way it really should be.

"And all this mother has to say is that every child should listen to their father. Because their father is telling them what is the very best for them. Because He knows. He knows exactly what each one of you need."

Marolyn Rawat is Our Mommy

It's easy to see how Marolyn Johnson eagerly accepted the chance to become Mrs Prem Pal Singh Rawat back in 1974. She really believed the whole Prem Rawat is the Guru Maharaj Ji is the Lord of the Universe and the Living Lord, God on Earth today.
