The Pictorial History of Prem Rawat's Family
Prem Rawat did not arise from a void free of the past, culture and family. Prem Rawat's teachings are rooted in the Sant Mat tradition of Northern India as interpreted by his father but singularly includes a multi-ethnic lineage of reincarnated Masters of which Prem was the last and greatest.
In 1900 Hans Rawat, the father of Prem Rawat, was born and in 1930 he became involved with Sri Swarupanand and his Advait Mat Panth.

In 1936 when Swarupanad died, Hans became an itinerant preacher recruiting men and women to his cult. In 1946 Hans Rawat married again to Rajeshwari Devi a 19 year old less than half his age. By 1957 they had 4 sons, the eldest became Satpal Maharaj and the youngest was Prem.
Shri Hans Rawat Out On the Hustings Preaching Up A Storm

Param Sant Shri Hans Ji Maharaj (as he humbly called himself) was no pussy. He was loud, controversial and critical of other religious and spiritual leaders.
In 1946 the 46 year old Hans Married His Second Wife, the 19 year old Rajeshwari Devi.
